Aster DM Healthcare launches Doctor-on-Call initiative in Dubai

Aster DM Healthcare, the leading healthcare conglomerate in the Middle East and India, launched ‘Doctor-on-Call (800-ASTER)’ service, a unique model of healthcare delivery in Dubai. This program is aimed at adding a significant value to Dubai’s tourism segment that is growing multi-fold year on year placing Dubai as one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world.
Mr. Ibrahim Yakoot, Executive Director, Corporate Support Department at the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), the Government of Dubai, flagged off the new service in the presence of Dr. Azad Moopen- Chairman & Managing Director of Aster DM Healthcare, senior officials of the Group, and senior representatives from hotel and insurance sectors.
The ‘Doctor-on-Call (800 ASTER) or 800-27837’ initiative is a 24/7 touring medical service catering to medical requirements of people reaching out to their places where they stay.
Commenting on the launch of the initiative, Dr. Azad Moopen- Chairman & Managing Director of Aster DM Healthcare, said, “We are very excited to introduce the 800-ASTER Doctor on Call initiative, which is a part of our commitment to extend our services to more people to provide them with care beyond boundaries. The programme is aimed to provide high-quality health services at affordable prices for the residents and tourists in Dubai. The services under the initiative are also aligned to Dubai’s recently issued medical tourism strategy.”
“The service will ensure providing prompt, high-quality and special medical attention to patients at their residences, workplaces and hotel rooms. Aster DM Healthcare’s fully licensed medical practitioners who are trained in all core medical specialities will be available 24/7 and 365 days to give patients the required treatment and manage their medical issues as and when additional support is required. The 800-Aster initiative therefore promises hassle-free service and quality medical practitioners and nurses at your doorstep within 60 minutes for any primary medical attention,” he added.
Commenting on the programme, Ms. Alisha Moopen- Director Strategies at Aster DM Healthcare, said, “There are instances when a patient is unable or incapable of making a trip to the nearby clinic or hospital, but requires immediate medical attention. The 800-Aster service will cater to such requirements of patients, ensuring their access to quality medical care just a phone call away. The doctors and nurses under the programme are specially trained to attend patients staying in hotels.”
“The initiative is relevant, especially when we consider the tourists, who do not have any local knowledge on facilities to access the best healthcare providers. We hope that Aster DM Healthcare will be able to assist and support their medical requirements, so that they can recover swiftly with minimal stress of finding medical practitioners that they are confident about,” she added.

We also work closely with the government hospitals to ensure appropriate cases are routed to the most accessible and convenient facility for the patients.
